Now, wasn't this some sorta nod to Gottfried's Superboy/masturbation routine from the Arsenio Hall show?
I have no idea what horrible, horrible thing you refer to, but this is from a comic Gottfried co-wrote with Scott Lobdell. It's from the tie-in comic based on the 90s Superboy tv show; Gottfried played a Toyman-inspired villain on it called Nick Knack.
My guess is that Superman's favorite comics is probably Lisa Lampenelli simply for her intials.
